Critically low FPS on startup and game runs extremely slow

I have been unable to even start a game of Noble Fates sadly. Upon launching the game from Steam I see the wolfs head symbol for in excess of a minute while loading and hitting an FPS of 1. The FPS jumps to 60 as the crown appears before declining back down to 1 whereupon I see the crown for 20 seconds before the music cuts in and then the crown very slowly drifts to the bottom left corner (it's like watching a movie a 1/4 speed) and then finally the menu shows with the castle in the background. If I then click on any of the options it takes between 10 and 15 seconds for the screen to update and the FPS stays very low flitting between 1 and 5 FPS. It is completely unplayable.  I have a 4K monitor running at a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a UI scaling of 200%. I have tried changing this to various different resolutions and scales but nothing seems to fix the issue just make it very slightly better. Having checked some other suggestions on Steam discussions I have tried running in compatibility mode but this has not fixed this issue.

I have noticed something similar in Age of Darkness when there are a lot of units and enemies on the screen but not when navigating through game menus or just ordinary game play only when there's hordes of thousands in the late game.

So found that a BIOS update was required and completed that and checked to see if that resolved the issue but it didn't so continued with the suggestions.

Tried to update the Vbios and got this message.

Also the graphics driver is older than the one I have installed so not sure whether to roll it back or not.

Alright- another thing to try - if you can make it into the graphics options, can you disable vsync?

When I finally get into the options I cannot change anything other than the UI scale for some reason, the options are all greyed out per below

So I reduced my screen resolution to make the screen more legible and went back to full screen mode and after a lot of clicking and waiting I managed to change the Vsync option to off, still get the same issue.

Wow - ok. Sorry you're having so many problems!

My bet is some kind of throttling is kicking in - just not sure where it'd be. Does the laptop have some kind of performance mode you can turn on?

Ooh - another test we can run - can you switch to the development beta branch on steam and launch? Let me know if the results are any different or if you get any errors in red in the bottom left!

I used the Alienware Command Centre (for the first time ever) to change Thermal to Performance (was Balanced) and switched to Development Build of Noble Fates via Steam, still have the same issue. No errors in red BTW

I have used  Dell Support Assist to stress test my graphics card, no issues found.

Really don't understand why it's only doing it on this game, it's so strange. Any other suggestions?

Wow - thanks so much for hanging in there.

What is on the screen the longest when the dog head is on the screen at startup? Building Objects or processing destruction?

Can you turn off destruction in the options menu and relaunch to see if that helps?

Then, let's make super sure it's using your gpu.

You might have to browse to and choose the Noble Fates.exe where it's installed under steam.

Building Objects approx 10 seconds, fracturing props approx 32 seconds (was counting rather than using tech hence the approx). Then it takes about 4 minutes more to get to the castle with the menu options. Don't see anything about destruction.

I managed to turn destruction off and it seems to have just not done the fracturing props step in the load but it's still really SLOW.

Already set the NVidia custom program settings for Noble Fates per below, still getting the issues

Really don't know what to do

Watched the Thermals during launch, GPU temp does not go above 45 degrees Fan at 80%. It's not even being pushed. Don't understand whats going on
