Not recognizing existing decor

I got a message in the lower right that Roy wants an 8p Tabletop Decoration. I went to put a scroll on his little bedside table, and then realized he already had a decoration there. It's a 20p Bronze skull. So his want has already been taken care of, but the game isn't recognizing the existing one.
